How to Stay Younger Longer without Anti-aging Treatments

A healthy lifestyle comprising good dietary habits, regular exercise, adequate rest and proper skincare will help women delay aging naturally.

If wrinkles, crow’s feet and laugh lines are becoming more prominent, don’t fret if expensive anti-aging treatments such as Botox and laser treatments are out of reach.

In fact, it’s better to make the effort to look younger longer without any treatments that may have long-lasting side effects. Here are some practical ways to delay aging naturally.

Good Dietary Habits

Include at least five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables in the daily diet. Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants that can fight free radicals that damage cells and accelerate the aging process. They also contain vitamin C, the building block of collagen, which supports the skin structure, keeping it firm and supple.

At the same time, it’s important to cut down on oily, fatty, sugary and salty foods. Also, drink plenty of water, drink alcohol moderately and quit smoking. These good dietary habits will keep the body healthy from the inside. The result is a healthier and youthful appearance on the outside.

Regular Exercise

Regular exercise helps delay aging because physical activity increases blood flow and continuously oxygenates body cells, preventing them from aging. When blood is circulating freely in the body, body temperature soars too and this can help flush out toxins. Additionally, regular exercise also releases “feel good” hormones in the body, promoting positive feelings, good health and probably longevity.

Being active also activates genes within body cells that produce healthy proteins, protecting the body from chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. That’s why people who are active tend to look more youthful and are less likely to fall ill.

Adequate Rest

The body needs adequate rest to recover from daily activities and busy lifestyles. Adults should have about eight hours of sleep every night. Sleep-deprived people often have problems concentrating on their work, studies and can pose a road hazard while driving. They also have unflattering dark circles around the eyes, making them look haggard and older than they really are.

Make it a point to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. Try to rest in between activities during the day too. If there’s no time to rest, try eliminating some chores.

Proper Skincare

Proper skincare is not just about cleaning, toning and moisturizing. It is also about giving good sun protection for the skin all year round. Applying a good sunscreen with a SPF reading of 30 or more will help shield the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. Slapping on some moisturizer after cleansing or bath will help prevent skin dryness, a condition often associated with skin aging.

That said, using sunscreen diligently doesn’t make a person immune to sun damage. She should still stay away from the sun as much as possible, especially on hot sunny summer days.

Cosmetic surgery and anti-aging treatments are not the only ways to help women look and stay younger longer. There are effective, affordable yet natural ways to delay aging. The combination of good dietary habits, regular exercise, adequate rest and proper skincare will help women feel healthy inside and look good and younger outside for a longer time.
