Boost your Self Esteem with a FaceliftLook Younger, Feel Better but Do not Expect a Relationship Remedy.A facelift can boost your self confidence but not mend a relationship on the rocks.
One morning you wake up, make your way to the bathroom, look into the mirror and cry out: "Oh no, that's not me!" Overnight, your wrinkles and crow's feet, your wobbling chin and the creases on your neck seem to have taken on a new dimension. Do you recognise the feeling? You either wish to smash the mirror, bury your face under your pillow or from now on venture out only with your face covered by a veil. None of which is, of course, a solution to your problem. There are in fact only two alternatives: accept that you are no longer twenty and the ravages of time, your experiences, your joy and grief have done to your face and happily live with the result. Or else, contemplate a facelift. Have you ever read so called "honest" interviews with female movie stars? Inevitably, the questions turn to plastic surgery, even if the star in question is barely out of her nappies. With very few, admirable exceptions, they are outraged at the idea. "No,no," they cry. "Never!" A few even go so far as to say that they actually look forward to their wrinkles and the serious roles a time-worn face will generate for them. A few months later, they are caught on camera, hurrying from a well known beauty clinic, hidden behind shades and wearing big hats, jumping into their waiting limos, only to emerge a few weeks later, looking younger, their skin smoother than ever. What a hypocritical bunch they are! Back to the decision you have to make. You are not in the least vain or beauty -conscious and couldn't care less what you look like? Fine, if that is honestly the case and it very rarely will be, the story ends here. If however your self esteem and self confidence suffer, consider a facelift. Before taking matters further however, make sure that you are healthy enough to have one. Never forget, that a facelift is serious surgery, which more often than not requires an overnight stay in the hospital as well as general anaesthetic. Has your physician given you a clean bill of health? Good. Then do some soul searching and find out why you really want to undergo the surgery. Maybe you have some serious problems in your relationship and hope a new face will be a "quick fix"? Perhaps you want to keep or win back your guy? Forget it. A facelift is not a miracle cure to mend a relationship in danger of going wrong. If however you consider your body a very expensive, unique and custom made vehicle, which has to last you a lifetime and therefore needs constant care and attention, inside and out, you are on the right track. A precious car would, over time, need new varnish, new spare parts, dents need to be repaired so that the exterior matches the beautiful engine. If your engine, i.e. your spirit and mind and your general outlook on life is no longer in synch with your exterior and your self esteem and self confidence diminish as a result, maybe even bring you to the brink of depression, an overhaul is in order. Make sure you select a surgeon who knows what he is doing. The best facelift is the one nobody really notices, other than wondering how it came about that, all of a sudden, you look better, relaxed, walk straighter and, most important of all, the smile is back on your face and the sparkle in your eyes. Whether or not you want to admit that you had a facelift is your decision, but you may want to consider how many timid and suffering women you could actually encourage to take the step that will give them a new lease on life.
